Spinning 2 starts with putting the Country Craftsman spinning wheel together piece by piece. There are only a few basic parts to a spinning wheel and after seeing how one is assembled, one can pretty much do the same with any wheel, no matter who made it.
We then make dye batches and steam dye various wools, mohair, angora rabbit, sheep and silk in preparation for our advanced spinning adventure. This part of the film has been made into it's own single dvd, "One Pot Dyes" and is well worth buying Spinning 2 instead of getting two separate films at the same price. A substantial savings.
In Spinning 2 we make:
a 3 ply Seed bead yarn,
navajo ply multi color yarn,
2 ply mohair, silk and sheep, boucle', spiral, and angora rabbit /sheep 2 ply.
We knit and crochet a small sample to see what yarn we prefer for a project and view several completed articles of clothing made from the dyed fibers.
This dvd containing chapters, covers an extensive range of items and well over 1 hour and 15 minutes long.
